Dr. Lisa McKee, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity in the College of Science and Technology at Bellevue University, has been named as one of the Top 50 Women Leaders of Nebraska for 2024.

Dr. McKee has over 20 years of industry experience and is well known as a privacy expert and international speaker. She is Founding Partner of American Security and Privacy, LLC, and provides security and privacy services, assessments, training, program development and leadership as a virtual Data Protection Officer (vDPO) for companies globally.
“We’re so proud to see Lisa recognized for her leadership,” said Dr. Mary Dobransky, Dean, College of Science and Technology. “She represents the best of the cybersecurity profession and her interactions with our students encourages and empowers them to pursue careers in the field.”
In addition, Dr. McKee holds a PhD in Cyber Defense with an emphasis in privacy. She shares her knowledge as an APMG Certified ISACA Trainer, volunteers on several professional boards, advises graduate students and has authored several publications, including a Data Privacy Management textbook.
Before joining Bellevue University, Dr. McKee was an adjunct professor at Dakota State University. And prior to that she directed governance, risk, compliance and privacy at Hudl. Early in her career, she worked with First National Bank of Omaha as a manager in payment processing.
